Joan Shulind
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of North Dakota. I became a therapist because I want to offer hope and support to people so they can resolve problems and reduce emotional pain. As a therapist, I am both a partner in recovery and a coach: listening, encouraging, teaching, and practicing skills to help adults, adolescents (ages 12 and up), couples, and families resolve challenges and live their lives more effectively. Recovery is not a moment in time, but an ongoing process for all of us. My training and experience includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Common Sense Parenting, Motivational Interviewing (M.I.), Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), and Strengths Based Solution Focused Family Therapy. Outside of being a therapist, my joy comes from reading, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
